šŸŽÆ CW301 is ElevatEd’s genre-deep dive for students who want to master poetry as both an art form and a competition-ready craft. Designed for Grades 7–12, this intensive bootcamp helps students develop powerful poetic voices and prepares them to submit original work to top competitions like the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Students will leave the course with 2–3 original poetry drafts, each workshopped and aligned with Scholastic’s judging criteria: originality, technical skill, and personal voice.

  Instrucor: Ms. Gabrielle Watry

  • Gabrielle graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a B.A. in English with an Emphasis in Creative Writing. She has won the 2024 Therese Muller Memorial Nonfiction award for her personal essay, "Somehow Mother," as well as the 2022 Charles M. Hart Jr. Writers of Promise award for three of her poems. In her final year at UW-Madison, she served as a writing tutor for the university, working closely with professors and her fellow students on improving their academic writing. Not only does she love the process of editing and helping others with their writing, but she is also a longtime creative writer.
